Here at the USC SMART-VR Center, we’ve been working around the clock to develop exciting new technologies to enhance the remote learning experience and increase student engagement during this challenging time. Today we’re thrilled to invite you to try out our brand new, behind-the-scenes 360° virtual reality tour that we created for the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy so that, when we are allowed to safely welcome students back on campus, they’ll already feel like it’s home.
To view the tour, download our USC SMART-VR app on your smartphone, which you can find in the iOS and Android app stores (search for “USC SMART-VR” with quotes). We recommend you connect to wifi to download and load it for the first time as it has a lot of great content (~450 MB). You can also pair this app with your VR cardboard headset. Finally, here’s a short video tutorial on how to use our USC SMART-VR app to view the Chan tour.
As this is our first time creating something like this, any feedback or questions are welcome and may be submitted here. Enjoy the tour and look forward to more updates in the future, including additional computer-based tour platforms and immersive content.
This USC SMART-VR virtual tour app was created as a collaboration between SMART-VR co-director Dr. Sook-Lei Liew and SMART-VR members Dr. Vangelis Lympouridis, Wasef El-Kharouf, and their team at Enosis (https://enosis.io/).
