CNN’s new Tech For Good series recently highlighted SMART-VR co-founder Skip Rizzo and his work on Bravemind, a new form of immersion therapy aimed at the treatment of PTSD in US military veterans.

In Bravemind, the use of Virtual Reality allows soldiers to view digitally-reconstructed war zones and explore challenging memories associated with them. The presence of trained professionals provides the support necessary for these soldiers to process their emotions, all within the context of a safe environment.

In this special, watch as US marine veteran Chris Merkle gives his personal account of how Bravemind has helped him overcome the trauma of battle to enjoy a fuller life back home.
